An ideal first unicycle at an amazing price. Durable, comfortable and low maintenance. This is the best value, highest specification beginner unicycle in New Zealand! Includes Free Learn to Ride Guide.
The Hoppley 20" unicycle is ideally suited to children and learners ages 10 and up. 20" is the most popular size of learners' unicycle and is a very versatile first unicycle. And at this great low price, you'd be mad to miss out!
Check out the Hoppley's great features:
Great-looking black powder-coated steel frame, with Hoppley decals. Frame features main cap bearing holders. Frames with main cap bearing holders are superior in strength to other designs such as lollipop bearing holders.
Comes with the same high quality quick-release seat clamp as the higher spec model Axis 20.
Fitted with a learners' moulded foam seat. Hard blue plastic front and rear bumpers protect the seat from damage when the unicycle is dropped.
300mm long seatpost allows a wide range of seat heights - simply adjust as your child grows! The seatpost is 25.4mm in diameter which means that it is stronger and less likely to twist when the unicycle is dropped. The Hoppley is the only beginners' unicycle in New Zealand to offer such a large diameter seatpost!
Indoor/street tyre with Schrader valve. This is the same as car valves for convenience.
20" durable steel wheel with 36 spokes.
Robust plastic pedals.
127mm length cranks.
Sealed precision bearings.
This is a higher specification than other beginners' unicycles available in NZ.
Leg length sizes: Maximum 840mm (33"), Minimum 720mm (28"), cut down seat post minimum 610mm (24"). Note that these sizes are measured from the crotch to the floor wearing shoes, not trouser sizes.
These unicycles are intended for beginners and are great for learning or general riding but are not recommended for advanced tricks or jumping. If you are a heavier rider, or wanting an even more robust unicycle, we highly recommend the Axis 20" or Nimbus II 20" models.
Need some help getting started or need some inspiration? Turn your unicycle purchase into a Learner Pack by adding a book or DVD.
The Book - How to Ride Your Unicycle is full of useful tips and tricks for learning. Richly illustrated with humourous (and cool) 3D marionette style figures. Explains riding backwards, one-footed, wheel walking and many other unicycle skills. An essential for beginners and full of challenges for more seasoned riders. This is a top selling book: many people around New Zealand have learned to ride through the helpful tips and pictures inside.
The DVD - Unicycle Skills DVD demonstrates how to assemble your new unicycle and gives tips to help you learn to ride. Common learning to ride pitfalls are addressed as well as how to freemount. Footage from the Unicycle World Champs is included for one-wheeled inspiration.
My daughter loves her unicycle. She practices constantly and can now ride it up and down our short no-exit street (thank god she has graduated from riding around the living room from chair to chair!). It was very pleasant dealing with you and your company. We would recommend you. Trishmore...
