Nimbus 36" Stealth 2 Rim

An excellent improvement on the original 36" Stealth rim. New profile makes mounting a tyre a cinch - some tyres don't even need tyre levers to get on!

The Nimbus 36" Stealth 2 Rim with Braking Surface has a super strong box section that has a fantastically rigid construction making it the strongest 36" rim on the market. The design incorporates a deep inner section which makes it easy to get the tire on and off. The bead seating area contains a retaining lip allowing the tire to be run at low pressures and withstand side hops without the bead rolling off of the rim.

The new profile has greatly improved getting tyres on and off the rim. Other 36" rims require gorilla strength and massive (and heavy) metal tyre levers to mount. Getting a flat tyre while out riding was a big problem! This is now a thing of the past with the Nimbus 36" Stealth 2 Rim.

Compared to the Nimbus Stealth Pro rim, here is why the Stealth 2 is a better rim:
1. It has a purpose made braking surface, it is also thickened to avoid problems with flex and wear.
2. The bead section is deeper than is found on many standard rims. This helps the thicker tyres fitted to the 36" by allowing the tyres bead to be fully enclosed by the rim.
3. The lip of the outer edge protrudes further in towards the tyre than is standard - again helps with holding the tyre and is only possible because the rim bead section is deeper.
4. The tyre seat is absolutely flat and is large enough for the bead on the 36" tyres.
5. On the inner lip of the tyre seat is a small raise. This helps keep the tyre in place even when it is under inflated.
6. The tyre has a deep centre section so allowing for ease of putting the tyre on and off... hurray! Its possible to put a tyre on it without tyre levers.
7. The rim has a deeper section than the older Stealth and Dominator rims so making the rim a LOT more rigid.
8. The rim is thickened around the stainless steel eyelets for strength, but also by thinning the walls on the curved section it has helped to keep the weight down.
9. The rim is 2mm wider than the older model Stealth Pro rims.

We recommend using Plastic 36" Rim Tape with this rim, as it is reusable and is also cheaper than buying two rolls of traditional adhesive rim tape which you'll need for a 36" rim.
