Hubs
- Hubs and complete cranksets for upgrading your existing hub or building a unicycle from scratch.
- Replacement bearings for your unicycle hub.
- Bolts and nuts for attaching your cranks to your unicycle hub.
The hub is the heart of your unicycle, where the spokes, frame and cranks join. Big drops and repeated hopping place a huge amount of stress on the hub, so get one that suits your level of riding. There are two main types:
- Square Taper or Cotterless Hubs are common on entry level and some mid range unicycles. The ends of the spindles are square with a slight taper so that cranks can be tightened firmly.
- Splined Hubs are used by almost all high end unicycles and are much stronger than square taper hubs. Most major brands use the ISIS standard so that parts are interchangeable. The splined spindles look almost like a cog or gear wheel and provide more surface area for gripping the crank.
