Head up Brook street only minutes from the centre of Nelson, and you will find the old codgers main track. It is a fun entry level MUni track for all. There are also a heap of mtb tracks criss crossing old codgers for the intermediate and advanced MUni riders out there with more tracks opening up shortly. See map attached for a great set of tracks so close to Nelson.

Old Codgers was the start of the Dun Mountain Railway which was the first railway in NZ (built in 1861) and was an old tramway up to Coppermine saddle. The tram way was dismantled in 1872. The track now is to be opened (October 2011) as part of the National cycle way project which will complete a 43km loop over Coppermine saddle and back to Nelson. Should be a great test for you MUni enduro riders out there.
