Shipping Rates

Most of our products are bulky. They are not very heavy considering how large they are. This means that courier and shipping companies charge us volumetric shipping rates, which convert the size (volume) of the carton into a standard weight in kilograms using an internationally agreed formula. So a 5kg unicycle might have to be shipped as a 10kg courier package because of the size of the box.

If you have a larger order, please contact us as we can often find a cheaper rate by phoning around a couple of different carriers. Rates vary significantly depending on your exact location within your town and region for different carriers.

We no longer ship via NZ Post, even for small stuff like stickers and valve caps. By the time they are packaged properly they are over the 20mm thickness limit, and getting track and trace means standing in the queue at the post office. Its cheaper to send it by courier when you factor in the cost of 30 minutes a day getting to the post office and back.

Please note that these rates may vary from time to time. We try to keep our shipping rates as close as we can to what the courier companies charge. Many companies have a "variable fuel surcharge" which fluctuates depending on the price of diesel. Tracking this can be tricky. Sometimes we make a little extra, sometimes we lose a bit on a particular parcel. It usually all balances out in the end.
